Matthew 5:38-42 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.’ But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also. And if anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, hand over your coat as well. If anyone forces you to go one mile, go with them two miles. Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you. There is little place for revenge and bitterness among the body of Christ. These kind of self-centered emotions seek to destroy our relationships. You will meet people in this life that will wish you harm, and some may succeed in doing that harm to you. We can choose whether that moment of harm stays a moment, or germinates into a lifetime of sorrow, pain, and despair. Remember, God is able to shine through even the most difficult of times, and He is no stranger to what you are going through. Let Christ be magnified in all things, and let Him be the judge and protector.
