Matthew 7:1 Judge not, that ye be not judged. Just about - TopicsExpress

Matthew 7:1 Judge not, that ye be not judged. Just about everyone can tell me all about this passage of scripture, just seven little words. Havent heard any who have pointed me to this passage do likewise with the following: Matthew 3:8 Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance: There are also seven little words for you, here they are in Context. Matthew 3:5-12 Then went out to him Jerusalem, and all Judaea, and all the region round about Jordan, And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins. But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come? Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance: And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham. And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire. When someone tells you that we are not to judge, they are only partly right. At that moment we must begin to judge of their motivations for telling us that we cannot judge. Scripture demands a righteous judgment among the people of God. If a person is judged unrighteously and not according to a scriptural basis, then they have reason to plea to God for mercy on their behalf. If they suffer such judgment and are thus persecuted for Christs sake, it is glorious. 1 Peter 2:19-20 For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully. For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God. So, next time someone informs you of Matthew 7:1, and triumphantly states, judge not lest ye be judged, remind them that we are each judged daily and only those things for which we are wrongly judged and suffer for the sake of Christ count toward our happiness and joy. If any one of us are found to be in sin, committing sin, etc. there is no biblical grounds for which we can tell another he/or she are unjust in their judgment of us. We may attempt to do so, but we would be wrong. There is nothing in scripture that says that you and I are free to do whatsoever things we desire to do and can play Matthew 7:1 as a trump card thinking we justify ourselves in our sin by simply stating to those around us that they cannot judge us. In fact, if I am engaged in sin, the church, and any child of God made aware of it has every Biblical justification for judging my actions. bro. Dallas Eaton II
