Matthew 7:22-23 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you:depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Relationship is in trouble when all we can do is recount what we have done in an effort to justify to God why we deserve what it is that we want. The entitlement or the "you owe me" mentality rests on the foundation of self worship where love is not exalted because self is sitting on its throne.
