Matthew McConaughey, is that you? Are you dreaming? It’s easy to forget that other people have dreams as well. When the plane descends from the clouds into civilization, what are we looking at? Thousands and thousands of twinkling lights. They could just as easily be shards of broken glass being given an accidental moment to shine under the lazy flashlight of a sleepy night watchman making rounds. Stepped on. Walked over. Forgotten. But they are not. They are dreams. They are lives. Those little twinkles. We wake up looking at three houses every morning. I rise early. I see lights twinkling. As my coffee brews, I sometimes wonder what those people are thinking about. I wonder what those people, behind the twinkles, are dreaming about. I know that I will never know anything about their dreams, nor will they know anything about my dreams. I was wrong about not knowing anything about their dreams. It turns out that behind the twinkles of the house on the far right, a guy dreamed of playing the character of an AIDS victim living in Dallas. He realized that dream, and made us all think. A pretty powerful and thought provoking dream I would say… My coffee is ready… I see little dreams starting to wake and twinkle…
