Matthew Reed Bailey- I have been seeing this since the 1980s. This article IMMEDIATELY reminded me of a discussion I had with a FB friend (ex girlfriend) who used the phrase Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. When she was arguing why it was OK for her to do Cocaine, but that she thought it should remain illegal (based upon an appeal to emotion, concerning the consequences of drug abuse). At the time, I had just spent 8 years meticulously studying drug policy, intentions, consequences and goals. I had studied the history of drug prohibition, drug use, abuse, and what drug use and abuse was like prior to the Harrison act in the USA (which drove a way of prohibition across Europe, post WWII, when the UN began to impose us Policies nearly globally). Nothing seemed to phase her, because her opinion trumped any expert on the subject. I was not so vain as to use myself, but cited actual public experts on the subject, about how her opinion wasnt just wrong, but harmfully wrong, in every possible way. And now I see this Everywhere.
