Matthew Whelan Update: Wow what a beautiful, touching, heartfelt day! At the Bradford Midget Football Championships. Thank you Stacy Nelson for being so thoughtful and creative and all the cheerleaders! It was great to see all the midget football cheerleaders throughout the day wearing their t-shirts that had the MW green ribbon on their sleeves. Thank You Chad Hadden and the Race Football Team you guys will always be number one in our books. Dont ever give up. David and Jennifer Fitton, thank you for the thoughtful and kind performance today for Matthew it brought tears to my eyes. Just looking out at the crowd and having the High School football players present Matthew with their gifts was so caring and supportive. Thank you to everyone. It means a great deal to us and we know for a fact it meant the world to Matthew he was taking it in. All of it he was loving it. Especially the Be a Champion song, God Bless all of you. This is what Jennifer Fitton read today to Matthew over the loudspeakers while he was out on the field. What I learned from a boy named Matthew I learned that there is beauty in everyday. I learned that there is beauty in every person. I learned that no matter who you are, you are worthy of my respect. I learned that you deserve to be high-fived....and to listen to my joke. I learned that there is always room for a smile in someone elses life. I learned that I can overcome challenges against all odds. I learned that I can be comfortable in my own skin. I have learned that angels live among us. I learned that I can be an angel to someone else. I learned how to Be A Champion.
