Matthew said it best, she actually did drive everyone everywhere in that yellow plymouth volari 1978 station wagon. My personal favorites were 5:30 am rides to South Shore Golf Course so I could practice my golf swing and eventually win MVP honors on the Susan Wagner HS Golf team; her incessant need for me to never miss school which led to 13 straight years of perfect attendance, a mark that NO ONE will ever beat and of course 6:00 am Sunday morning drives in the rain to deliver newspapers so we wouldnt get soaked. She also drove me and many others to EVERY St. Ritas basketball game across Staten Island. I never played, or played very little, but no matter, there she was, driving me everywhere, sitting in the crowd, rooting us on, didnt matter that I was sitting on the bench, she made sure she was there (with the loudest man on staten island) to encourage and support me no matter what. She was a great saleswoman at Charlies, but she was an even better mother, motivator, mentor, fan, partner, doctor, nutritionist, historian, gossiper, friend and most especially, chauffeur that any kid could have. Just out of curiousity, where did our Mom drive you????
