Maui was rescued by SLR this week after she was surrendered to a shelter for incontinence. Maui is 11.5 years old and has lived all her life in one home that eventually gave her up. Our rescue vet just found that Maui has a bladder stone that is about the size of a quarter and she is in surgery now to remove it. We believe the incontinence was linked to the stone and a possible resultant infection. Maui also is getting a well needed dental while she is sedated since it is obvious her teeth have never been cleaned. SLR will bring Maui back to her healthy over the next few weeks but the vet expenses will obviously exceed any adoption fee that we may receive for Maui. I usually do a teary video to help raise the additional funds that our fosters need for their medical costs but this time, Im simply gonna post her picture and story to ask for donations to SLR for Mauis Medical Mission. At 11.5 years, it will be a miracle for a loving person to step up and adopt Maui - but she has a home in SLR for the remainder of her great new life! Go to the SLR webpage and either send a check to Mauis Medical Mission at the address in Bham or simply click the paypal button on the homepage to help. Maui is in surgery at this very moment so cross some paws and bend a head that she can begin a wonderful new forever life.....
