Max Cadalig 3:08am Dec 23 In Retrospect [from AUPPUC site] AUP our beloved university through its current leadership praises God for His sustaining grace. It is only through God’s mercy that AUP continues to steadily advance on its quest to be a leader of education in the Philippines. 2014 is indeed a year full of challenges to AUP as an institution especially in the light of educational reforms taking place in the Philippines, to its administrators, and faculty and staff as well yet God demonstrated His love and care to our University. It is a challenging year but filled with fruitful endeavours resulting to greater heights for AUP. Consider the following gifts of God to AUP for the year 2014: 1. Through the generosity of alumni and friends, and the courage of the administrators to borrow money believing that the amount or at least a greater part of it will be “fund raised”, the Alumni Hall which will be the home of College of Medicine was constructed. CHED’s approval of AUP’s application to open the Doctor of Medicine program in August 2015 necessitates the construction of the lower ground floor of the Alumni Hall as soon as possible. 2. The CHED classified AUP as a University. The Philippines has 3 classifications for Higher Education Institutions. These are the University which is the highest classification, Professional Institute, and College. 3. AUP’s Provisions of Tertiary Education is ISO 9001:2008 Certified. With this accomplishment, AUP now joins the company of only 110 schools in the country with ISO certification. This quality management system certification is a result of hard work of the University for two years. The University is determined that all the departments not included in the ISO certification will adopt the ISO processes to improve the delivery of services to its clientele. 4. AUP is one of the 48-member schools of the Passage to ASEAN – which gives privilege to any member-school to freely and openly visit other ASEAN countries that are visa-free beginning 2015. 5. AUP’s autonomous status which is supposed to end this December 2014 is extended until March 2015. The ISO certification recently received by the University will further boost AUP’s application to maintain its autonomous status. 6. CHED approves AUP’s application to open Doctor of Medicine in August 2015. This is a fulfilment of a long cherished dream of Adventist leaders and members in the Philippines. Though the resolution of the CHED will still be received by the University, the news that the CHED already approved it is a reason to rejoice and thank God for. The aforementioned accomplishments in 2014 are very challenging especially number 6 yet it was achieved without the aid or influence of any figure in Philippine politics. All were done only through the grace of God who worked through the steady, focused, able, and prayerful leaders supported by the faculty and staff of the University. PRAISE GOD FROM WHOM ALL BLESSINGS FLOW! To God be the glory for AUP’s able leaders whom He has appointed to lead it during this challenging year. With God as its unseen leader, AUP will surely advance, prosper, and do more exploits in the coming years for the glory and honour of God. For if God be for AUP, who can be against it? ON EVER ONWARD DEAR AUP! GOD BLESS US ALL AND THAT THROUGH HIM WE WILL HAVE A HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR 2015!
