Max has an application going in! - been on our books since May and with our most WONDERFUL foster dad Kai since June. WESTERN CAPE (Bloubergstrand in foster care). *APPLY FM ANY PROVINCE-HV FLIGHT SPONSOR. Max is a 6-7-year-old male Boxer. Not socialised to other dogs, be they large or small. Neither to cats nor children per se (in sense that he was not raised with children). Owners moving to a flat. Email BoxerRescueSouthAfrica@gmail - adoption fee of the shelter applies and as usual no dog goes to forever home with first being sterilized, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, 100% for the forever homes account. Please note we have some people on our books a little while and they may have specified a specific wish list or have specific needs per their home set-up re: other dogs, etc. When someone applies, you may very well be right at the bottom of the waiting list and it never automatically means you will get the dog for which you apply. Our first priority is match-making the dog with the ideal home for that dogs needs/quirks - ideally, but not always, in the same province. Bear in mind we network for shelters and the shelter, NOT ourselves, has the say on the dogs forever home. If you already have a Boxer through Rescue, it means you may not necessarily be first in queue for another Boxer for which you apply. We also want to give a chance to those who did not get a Boxer through Rescue. A pass on a home check does NOT mean automatically a pass (and it is NOT the home checker to decide which dog goes to which home - the core crew has numerous dogs to place and we have a handle on who has been on our books for longer and may be just as, if not more, suitable for that dog, and may also reside closer - we try not to fly dogs too often where possible - and are always enormously grateful for our flight sponsor). There are other variables - including that the shelter itself has the say on where a dog goes, and a play date with existing dogs (if in same city/town) first has to take place - aside from the sterilization; microchipping; vaccinations; deworming (whichever dog does not yet have). While we have a flight sponsor, we prefer that R350 crate rental is paid to PETport.co.za than to use the loan crate system which is really quite a schlep for all parties concerned (those taking dog to airport as well as the forever home meeting dog at other airport). We acknowledge receipt of each application form when sent within well under a 24-hour period (generally almost instantaneously) but bear in mind that we are doing this voluntarily between our full-time jobs. We live in a sick world of ulterior motives and watertight things for the DOGS sakes... This includes where possible rehoming in same province to avoid kennel stress in cases where the dog could no longer stay with present owner another minute and we had to put dog into boarding kennels. #adopt a #boxer #dog with #boxerrescuesouthafrica Until there are none, ADOPT ONE...
