Maxie is such a love bug. For those who dont know his story, this post will give you a bit of history. Maxie had been with us for a while and he was always a plucker. However, he got adopted but came back to us and when he did, he had started mutilating and it had gotten so bad that he needed a surgery to close up the wound. Thanks to the help of the Crazy Bird Ladies group we were able to provide him with the medical care he needed during a time when we did not have all the wonderful support we have today. Today, Maxie is still with us at the rescue. He wears a collar made by protective petals by Pam which allows him to be protected and have mobility. He also has more chest feathers than I have ever seen him with. He does preen his feathers himself and does not always pluck them out, however he does still try to chew his skin when the collar is off. So, while hes under our care, we continue the search for an experienced home that will be able to give him the extra care he needs. --Nicole Please share to help us find that special someone who will be able to care for Maxies special needs.
