Maxim: Motocross team should double exertion Maxim Van Pee won the second round of the national motocross championship in MX1 sort in an event held at Garuga on weekend. However as Uganda team waits for the FIM East and Central Africa motocross championship that will be held on April 19th in Busiika, Maxim urged Uganda team members to double the effort if they are to have positive results. ‘’I have won today (Sunday) but our team still has a long way to go if we are to chase the East and Central African motocross title,’’ recounts Maxim who is now leading the MX1 category with 120 points. Maxim, who is studying from Netherlands, confirmed that by the time of regional championship he will be available to boost the team as he expects to embark on training soon as he goes back for studies later this week. Despite all that Arthur Blick who lost to Maxim on weekend said, ‘’I have not been fit enough to challenge him but I think that is what I am going to work on however for the team as a whole we hope to bring in African motocross champion Shaun Mitchell to boost the training ahead of regional championship’’. Uganda lost last year’s regional championship to Kenya who (Kenyan) won two rounds out of three to be crowned champions. Team Uganda expects to intensify training as early as next week in Busiika.
