May 10, 2014| I want to thank the leadership and membership of Branch 345 of the Royal Canadian Legion for, yesterday, honouring the men and women of the Canadian Armed Forces who lost their lives in Afghanistan. It was a beautiful, solemn ceremony with the rain falling gently, the flag half-mast and the piper piping. Lest we forget. We remember also too many moms and dads without their sons and daughters...too many sons and daughters without their mom or dad. The future of Afghanistan remains uncertain. But what is certain is the courage with which our soldiers served. May we never forget that or them. And may we never break faith with those who served and returned home.
