May 18, 2014 Members: We were alerted today that a staff member of World Gym Prince Frederick has been diagnosed with MRSA (Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus). She will not be back in the gym until her infection has completely healed. Of course, there is no way to know where she contracted the infection, but because she is an employee, it is possible that she has exposed some areas of the gym. As a precaution, we have been diligently cleaning today using our cleaning solution (which specifically fights against such diseases) to clean every piece of equipment as well as our front desk area and juice bar area. We will now have hand sanitizer at the front desk as well as in the Kids Club. We ask that every member use it upon entry and exit. Also, to prevent any possible spread of the infection, your best defense is to clean off any piece of equipment you use BEFORE and AFTER use, and wash your hands often. Again, there is no way to know where she contracted MRSA, but we should all take precautions to prevent further spread. World Gym Management
