May 23 Do the kids really know the basics of God? One of the simplest and most applicable things I could present were the Ten Commandments. With just ten rules, they provide a framework for how to act in every part of life. For this, I made a second poster, an image representing each rule with the rule written at its side. (An excellent reminder to have up on the wall.) In the devotional, I read to the kids the account of how the commands were given. They did not come from tablets, they were spoken first by God directly to the people (Dt. 4:11-12a). Then I read through the commands (Ex. 20:1-17) giving an explanation for each one.
