May 24 Emelia has been in the Y’s afterschool program since first grade. When her parents were getting divorced her mother was worried about Emelia going through even more change if they were no longer able to afford the afterschool program. She spoke with the Y and learned about the scholarship program offered to help make programs available to everyone, regardless of their ability to pay. Now, Emelia is in the seventh grade and she is exceeding in all her classes at school. At the Y, we work every day to help kids set and achieve personal and educational goals to ensure that every child has an opportunity to envision and pursue the best possible future.
