May 29 update: Josh told me yesterday that he was watching as his hair was falling out. Although we shaved his head (down to a guarded shave) last week, the remaining follicles he said felt like tiny needles in his head and chin. He told me that any pressure like laying down was painful, including touching what was left of his lingering beard.. So tonight we buzzed him down to the skin. I admit I shed a few tears, only in that it reminded me of my mother and how thats how I pretty remember her for years and years during her fight for life. So its intimidating and makes this all the more real and in your face, you know? He is a bit nervous about tomorrow (please pray for his peace).. ROUND 2 OF CHEMO.. (in my best boxing announcers voice..) ahem!... In the left corner, we have Cancer.. rearing its ugly, grief giving head, and then in GODS Corner, we have Joshua, born and bought with the blood of Christ! Ding Ding! okay, lame attempt at cancer humor.. but you do what you have to when learning to cope. And were finding our laughter where we can. Weve begun calling it Canc-awwwwwr. Mostly because when people hear hes got it, they instinctively say out loud, awwwwwww! ;) We understand its hard to know what the heck to say when someone says that, so please know, no harm and no foul.. it makes us giggle. :) First thing in the a.m. we go in for his infusion. Hopefully this time it wont take 7 + hours like the last.. were hoping for like 3, maybe 4. After that they will fit him with a fanny pack for a heaping helping of chemo to-go-go . Well be, of course, accepting any and all prayers that this again blesses his body and provides the killing power along with the Hand of God to wipe this crap out of his body. Specifically, also, that his body is able to bounce back rapidly, his kidneys are amazing and flush it out without incident, and that he remain sick free.
