May I kindly remind our Public Officials that under the law, you are obliged to reply to letters of communication and requests for assistance from private citizens/individuals, including NGOs within 15 days from receipt thereof. Failure to do so will subject the official to an administrative sanction. Also, cases against our Ambassadors are cognizable by the Supreme Court who exercise exclusive and original jurisdiction over them. With that said, I have already instructed our Chief of Staff and my Executive Assistant for Welfare Operations to tabulate and document all our requests for assistance that never got a reply nor action taken for purposes of preparing a case or cases against said officials. We take our jobs very seriously. It is not easy mediating matters with agencies, comforting distressed workers, calling via long distance hostile employers, until our saliva dries out. I will also endorse these matters for appropriate Congressional Hearings. We should not scratch our heads thinking if help is going to come.
