May-Pac negotiations ongoing Source: SB Nation Its a new year and thus I thought Id take the opportunity to update you all on the current state (or lack thereof) of the Mayweather - Pacquiao fight. The good news - almost all reported rumors regarding the negotiations suggest that the talks for the fight are progressing - albiet somewhat slowly. Bob Arum has been uncharacteristically concise with his statements regarding the negotiations as of late, which can actually be construed as a good thing. He says he plans on talking again with Les Moonves this week to see where things stand. I just received an email from Les and wed be talking more about this in the coming days, Arum said, noting that Moonves is currently outside the US. Arum also went on to intimate that if the fight comes together, it will likely happen in June of this year. While his position on the Cinco de Mayo date seem like a load of garbage at face value, the fact is that its highly unlikely that both sides will be able to settle all their differences and demands in time to promote a fight of this magnitude for early May. At this time, early oddmakers in Vegas have Floyd as the 3-1 favorite. Michael Koncz, Pacquiaos advisor, has said hes giving it until the end of the month to see if these negotiations are really going anywhere. Ahh - so much for that rumored Christmas Present Announcement we were all hoping for...
