May student na nagtanong sa IE 3 ko: Sir, ano yung most pressing problem na nasagutan mo, and how did you solve it? (yung totoo) Nachallenge naman ako at eto ang sagot ko: The problem of the world. If almost all fields point to the conflict of the selfless versus the selfish, then why not satisfy both? So, the real question is how can one be both selfless and selfish at the same time. Simple, let’s change our success metrics into not of how much we earn, how much we have achieved, or how much our reputation has risen up to, but to how much we give back to the society, how much we help others, or how much we have uplifted other people. If we are selfish on being selfless, or more simply if our personal goal is to help the personal goal of others, then the conflict is solved. So basically, the problem of the world is the mindset that it is more beneficial for the self to compete. But what if we prove that it is more beneficial for the self to cooperate? I think it is the direction we should be directed at. How did I get to this answer? Three steps: 1) Ideality – think of what the ideal situation is so that a direction from the real situation can be drawn, 2) Break off Contradictions – if there is a gap between the real and the ideal, then there should be some sort of contradiction, in this case, it is the fact that you need to be selfish and selfless at the same time, lastly, 3) Pattern to Nature – there is a big misconception that the human nature is to be selfish, greedy, and competitive (survival of the fittest), but look at our cells. They managed to be successful and transform into a better human system not because of competition but because of cooperation. Our cells thought that what if proper bureaucracy is performed (division of labor from organ to organ) and cooperation is performed at the highest level due to a high level of technology (efficient transportation system via the blood vessels, efficient communication system via the nervous system, renewable energy and resources via the respiratory and digestive system, etc.). They learned that this system would be beneficial for each cell. Look at the ecosystem and it is of the same pattern too. So maybe we, as humans, are just cells, and we need to implement what our basic cells have done so that we can bring the success of life at a higher level. We need to live the world as one. Hehehe, this is bringing TRIZ + IE to the higher level. This is bringing change to the world through education. This is how ideas are inceptioned to the majority. This is bringing revolution to the mainstream.
