May the Image of Santo Niño remind us that: 1. We are BAPTIZED - The first Filipino Christians were baptized way back 1521, King Humabon and Queen Juana received the image from F. Magellan as a symbol of entering Christianity. We are baptized, do what is expected of us, do this for the faith! 2. We must be EVANGELIZED - More than the get-up or what we dress our Santo Niño image, let us ask ourselves, what Jesus wants us to dress as Christians. Only those who have humble heart could be formed. As Jesus would say in our Gospel, Whoever then humbles himself like this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven (Mt. 18:4). We are not just sacramentalized, we must be evangelized. What does the faith do to me? 3. We are SAVED - A child has been born to us, a son has been given to us (Isa. 9:6 - 1st Reading). God became man, for men to live Godly life. Objectively we are redeemed, what Jesus wants is our cooperation for us to be saved (subjective redemption). A Meaningful Feastday of Santo Niño!
