May was a very busy month for us and there were lots of memorable rescues but 2 really stood out - Sebastian and Paddy. Both boys were fostered by the same foster mom - Hollie W - and both have been adopted by wonderful moms. Sebastian came into LMAS a matted mess suffering from multiple catastrophic fractures to his back leg. He was a shy and scared little boy and we were saddened to learn that his leg would require amputation. Our little guy never let that stop him from blossoming into the happy little copilot that his new momma so dearly loves. Now recovered completely and living a great life as a tripod, Sebastian is never without a big smile on his face and is the apple of his mommas eye. Paddys story starts out as a sad one. As a very young puppy, he was abandoned on the porch of Shelby Co Humane Clinic, extremely malnourished and underweight. When Hollie took him home, he weighed only 11 lbs and you could see every bone in his little body. Paddy quickly stole the hearts of many within our little rescue with his adorable pout and sweet disposition. We all happily watched as he slowly grew to a healthy weight and made friends with everyone he met. Since adoption, Paddy has continued to grow into a great dog and now weighs a healthy 50 lbs and is spoiled rotten in his new home! Sebastian and Paddy would not be the light of their mommas if not for the help of folks like you who have continued to support our mission to Save Hearts, One Paw at a Time!
