Maybe Apple should stop inviting newspapers to launch events that coerce employees to reveal confidential information. Is it the newspaper reporters job to be accurate and first in their report? Yes. Does it mean they should be rewarded for coercing and bribing employees; No. I havent been an Apple employee for 15 years and yet even now, if I hear something that I know is confidential information from insiders (alumni), I keep that to myself because I signed an NDA as an employee that I took very seriously and I believe and want the best for the company. These employees leaking to the press should be fired immediately. Its totally unacceptable and Im sure they are being paid for the information in many cases. Its hard to put a lid on leaks but this is an area where Apple will need to crack the whip and find and wipe out these bad Apples to make a statement that just because Jobs is dead; doesnt mean that Apples secrets dont need to remain secret anymore. More stick, less carrot.
