Maybe I expect too much from leadership...but they should do same of themselves as well. The minister of information announced on Citi Fm that Government has released fuel from its strategic reserves to ameliorate the fuel crisis in the country. When asked how much was released he said he didnt know and would find out for them later....he must either be joking or taking his job as the information minister for granted. I would want to believe that any such order to release X or Y amounts of fuel from the Nations strategic reserve will be in writing and signed by the President and the information minister would be copied such. This is not some village committee we are running....this is a Nation and lets take our people serious. I have noted countless times ....government officials stepping up to the mic to such and such with no figures or stats to back what they say....but the information ministry being the mouth piece of government should do better. I dont think the President just called him up and said go and tell them I am releasing fuel from the strategic reserves. Then again if that were the case, I will think hed had the right frame of mind to ask respectfully sir, how many gallons are you releasing. Its time we demand accountability from government, because in the long run its we who pay the bill for their excesses......
