Maybe it is...maybe it isnt...But what if it is? ...Today we hear about the 72 hours cease fire between Israel and Hamas, leading to emergency talks in Cairo to bring about a more permanent cease fire to allow for negotiations. In Daniel 9:27, it clearly states that before the tribulation, there will be a 7 year peace treaty with Israel, which will bring about the much desired peace and safety to the region. But half way into the 7 years (after 3,5 years) , the Antichrist will take over, break the peace treaty and will put an end to sacrifice and offerings in other words, he will ban religion and set up an abomination that causes desolation. In Revelation 12:6, it states that Israel (the woman who gave birth to the male child who will rule the nations i.e. Jesus) fled to the wilderness where she will be cared for (in peace) for 1260 days (exactly 3,5 years), and in Revelation 12:17 we read that after this time, the Antichrist will not only try to destroy the woman (Israel) but also those who have faith in Jesus. In Matthew 24:15-25, Jesus describes what will happen during this time, and He says that if God had not shortened these days, no one would survive. And in the midst of these terrible things, Jesus says in Matthew 24:30-31 that He will send His angels with a loud trumpet call to gather His elect from the four corners of the world (the rapture). I am not trying to predict any thing, just trying to understand what does the Bible say. Maybe we are now witnessing the start of these things...or maybe not...But what if it is?...what if we hear soon that a 7 year peace plan is agreed between Israel and the Palestinians? will this mean that we are at the beginning of these things that Daniel and Jesus spoke about? maybe not...but what if indeed we are?, ...I for one want to be part of the elect that will be gathered by the angels, as Jesus said...
