Maybe you are facing right now some difficulties or problems you cannot handle and so wonder how you could even spend Christmas joyfully. Be not dismayed. When God chose the best time to send His only Son to be born as our King on Christmas Day, consider these glaring difficulties too: 1) Joseph and Mary could not be booked in any hotel because all hotel rooms in the vicinity were full. Better these days because we can readily make reservations in advance via online without making a sweat. 2) Rather than litterally sleeping outside, they had no choice but to stay for the night to rest in a stable. We do understand the big difference between a comfortable bedroom and a stable room, dont we? 3) Unlike pregnant women today who prefer to be brought to any decent hospital for safe delivery, Mary had to contend delivering our Lord Jesus in a stable and probably filled with stinking animals not fit for a king. 4) Consider king Herod who plotted to kill the just born infant Lord Jesus out of politcal jealousy and for this reason the First Family had to move again and escape to Egypt on a long trip that probably any medical doctor would not advice. Comparing your situation with our Lord Jesus birth during the first Christmas, how INCONVENIENT do you think your life can be today? CHEER UP! Enjoy the ride. Even the heavenly host did not find this a problem to sound their joyous singing to bewildered shepherds on duty during the first Christmas. Keep the joy up and running for nothing is IMPOSSIBLE with God who is WITH US. Amen.
