Mayday ....... 2 days before Madeleine was reported missing and things just dont seem quite right, this is when I think something happened. Heres why......... The trip to the beach. After lunch Kate and Gerry took Madeleine and the twins to the beach. Its not like them to be spending time with the children I know but its how they got there that niggles me. They suddenly had a buggy to use for the twins, yet they had already said they didnt have one and that was the reason they didnt use the millenuim restaurant again after the first night. You either have one or you dont, it cant be both. Madeleines mini tennis Rachel Oldfield describes the mini tennis as happening on Thursday, it didnt it was on Tuesday morning. So ok she got the day wrong and I suppose on its own thats not exactly inexplicable but she said that was the last time she saw Madeleine. Surely under the circumstances you would at least remember the last time you saw her. Maybe it was. Russell OBrian It was Russells turn to stay at the apartment that night. One of his daughters was sick. He didnt go to the tapas bar for dinner and the quiz, his meal was taken to the apartment. Najoua Chekaya. The aerobics instructor who ran the quiz recalls Gerry inviting her to join them at their table. She doesnt remember Kate being there and noted there was an empty chair, that of someone who had had dinner and left, so that rules out it being Russells seat. Its worth mentioning also that she couldnt remember David Payne being there either despite sitting with the group for at least 20 minutes. Mrs Fenn The occupant of the apartment above Kate and Gerry heard a child crying in apartment 5a from 10.30pm till 11.45pm. She was sure from what she heard that it wasnt one of the younger children. The crying stopped when she heard the patio doors open and close and assumed the parents had returned. Kate and Gerry claim they returned to the apartment at 11pm that night. Deleted Phonecalls Kates phone records place her around the apartment between 10.15pm and 10.30pm. She made a flurry of phonecalls in that time. So if its to be believed that they didnt take their phones out with them then that must place her at 5a. Its possibly true that they didnt as there wasnt any mobile phone activity for any of them during their meals at the tapas. These calls were deleted from Kates phone Memory, as were 2 she made early the following morning to her friend Amanda whose husband is a pathologist. Who slept where? Both Kate and Gerry claim Madeleine came to their room during the night and slept with Gerry as the twins were crying. The maid that cleaned their apartment the next morning clearly remembers there being one of the cots in Kate and Gerrys bedroom. Lots of things just dont seem to add up and some are very suspicious. What was really going on on Tuesday ?
