Mayor Coleman Seeks Capital Improvement Budget Task Force Members Appointments due from District Councils Monday, January 26, 2014 SAINT PAUL – Mayor Chris Coleman today announced openings on three different task forces, which will evaluate 2016-2017 Capital Improvement Budget (CIB) proposals. The task forces include Streets and Utilities, Community Facilities, and Residential and Economic Development. Each task force is made up of standing CIB committee members, as well as community members who have been appointed by their respective District Councils. Community members can serve as full-time members of the task force or as alternates, who fill in for full-time members as needed. Each District Council must appointment both a member and an alternate to each task force. “Community involvement throughout city government is imperative, whether it’s sharing a concern you have with city officials or serving on a committee or task force,” said Mayor Coleman. “We need input from every corner of Saint Paul as we decide what our priority projects will be for capital investments.” Any resident can serve on a task force, but the decisions regarding appointments will be made by the local District Councils. Each District Council will need to submit their appointments to the City by 4:00 p.m. on Monday, January 26, 2014. Thus, those interested in applying should contact their respective District Council about their individual application process. Task forces will meet once a week in City Hall from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. starting on March 2, 2014 and will last until Mid-April. If you are interested in serving on a task force and would like to get in contact with your District Council staff, please contact Daley Lehmann at 651-266-8825, or [email protected].
