Mayor Crespo was one of the first supporters of NTLP in the City of Bell Gardens. When I called and asked him if he would come to Leadership Camp and serve as an interview judge, he agreed immediately. He later invited all the BG students and myself to a City Council meeting, where he spoke about the students and their leadership and he and the Council presented them all with certificates, and me with a plaque, from the City. Every time we spoke, he talked about his concern for, and interest in, the children and teens of Bell Gardens. And he followed that up with support for them. This has really shaken me. RIP, Mayor Daniel Crespo.
