Mayor Ness was there to proclaim September 6, 2014 Boys & Girls Clubs “Day for Kids,” an event highlighting the critical needs of children in the community. Today, too many youth are facing serious issues that can deprive them of a happy, healthy childhood and negatively impact their future. Over 100 kids and families attended the free event. Activities included interactive games – bounce house, obstacle course, basketball, ring toss, and tours of the Dave Goldberg Family Branch facility located in the Heritage Sports Center. A free lunch was provided to kids and families in attendance, and each kid went home with a prize – board games, blankets, jewelry, and stuffed animals donated by maurices.
