Mayor and Council has proclaimed June 1st Intergenerational Day - TopicsExpress

Mayor and Council has proclaimed June 1st Intergenerational Day Canada. This day is celebrated annually throughout over 100 communities across Canada. Intergenerational Day Canada is meant to raise awareness about the importance of intergenerational connections. Respectful and purposeful intergenerational connecting is a way to prevent isolation and mistreatment of both older and younger generations. It effectively creates safer and more resilient communities. By breaking down ageism, we build all-age-friendly neighborhoods. On June 1st (and year round too!) challenge yourself to do something nice for someone of a different generation than yourself. This can be as simple as smiling at someone or holding the door for them.
