Mayor thanks officials for getting word out about getting cars off the street. Some cars had to be towed. Roads are still being cleared but city still has a parking ban until (likely) Thursday at noon. About a foot of snow (give or take an inch) across the city. A little more is expected. Clean up went well. Opening residential streets today and then clean up in problem areas throughout city. State has highways closed and New Haven roads still closed. Probably open later today. Fairfield and Litchfield counties are open (local streets there) 242 vehicles towed in New Haven last night 69 this morning. Fire Dept. increased staffing on every engine company and added 3. Added paramedic unit. 2 eqpt techs on night shift who were day workers. Support services to city employees who stayed over night. Night tour ordered in at 4pm yesterday. Will continue to upstaff tonight. etc... Police dept. Shovels in all patrol cars. Posts at neighborhood district offices with food, water etc. BOE...closed today for school. Lots cleared...sidewalks being cleared. Maybe school open tomorrow. Everbridge notification to go out this afternoon. Sign up for alerts on the city website.
