Mazin Khalil Mazin Khalil Born in the UK, and raised in the gulf, at 25 years of age, Mazin Khalil has transformed the world of business in Sudan, and the MENA region. As a physician and a graduate from Khartoum University, Mazin had already set up SudaMed, 6 months after he graduated, to tackle the lack of professional medical services available in Sudan. Through hard work and perseverance , Mazin quickly transformed SudaMed into a company that has until date provides 16 different medical services in 5 countries, with 672 full time employees, and is the recipient of 5 international awards; 1. King Abdullah Award for Youth Innovation and Achievement (2013) 2. Social Entrepreneur of the Year (2013) 3. Arab Entrepreneur of the Year (2013) 4. MIT Award – First place (2014) 5. AllWorld Arabia 500 Fastest Growing Companies in the MENA region (2014) 6. 10 Most Influential Youth in the Arab Region SudaMed has also revoltionized social entrepreneurship and philanthropy in the region, where it gives an astonishing 70% of its profits back to the Sudanese community through free health clinics (28 to date), free primary schools (24 to date) and free secondary schools (18 to date). When asked about his other interests, Mazin replied with one word; Entrepreneurship. Mazin has been very active in the last 2 years promoting entrepreneurship in the MENA region, and has been working as a fellow for a number of international organizations, along with setting up many workshops to train and mentor aspiring entrepreneurs in the region.
