Mbabazi-Museveni war goes national. Museveni should realise that - TopicsExpress

Mbabazi-Museveni war goes national. Museveni should realise that his hold onto power is slipping by the day. These internal dynamics within NRM are very significant for the liberation struggle. This is because Mr Museveni has stayed in power this long by fusing the NRM party and the state to such an extent that to liberate Uganda one must factor in the internal dynamics within that party. But these incredible happenings within NRM also indicate a new narrative of collapsing rule of Mr. Museveni, as Ugandans, including those within NRM reject him openly and decisively. Recently it was the National union of Students Associations publically firing Museveni as their patron and chosing Mbabazi instead. Now it is the National Association of Local Councillors. It is worth noting that these are national bodies operating across Uganda, and Museveni can only remain in power if they are with him. The same can be said about the UPDF. A national institution that is slowly but steadily abandoning Mr Museveni. It is the very reason why a growing number of UPDF top commanders and officers as well as foot-soldiers are being detained and persecuted by Mr Museveni using tramped up charges. This is happening by the day. Museveni still falsely thinks that he will continue to wield the BIG stick to beat all these into line, to coarse them into remaining loyal to him. But the irony is that soon Mr Museveni may have no one to help him lift the big stick from the ground. In which case he will not be able to use it at all. Instead all the People of Uganda, including those within NRM are going to lift that BIG stick and force Museveni out of power. That moment is not far away. Indeed it is already starting to happen. Why is the Mbabazi-Museveni fight good and fine for the liberation struggle. It is hastening the fatal divisions in NRM that will ultimately help sink Mr Yoweri Museveni. As that inside battle is happening, the rest of Ugandans are coming out in force to oppose Musevenis long stay in power. It will not be long before Ugandans do a Burkina Faso. But for us in Uganda, knowing how Museveni has misused the military to stay in power, the clever way is to prepare and refine all means necessary - just in case we are forced to act in that way to bring an end to the corrupt and repressive regime of Mr. Museveni. observer.ug/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=35259:-local-councillors-body-sacks-its-chairman-over-mbabazi&catid=78:topstories&Itemid=116
