McALLEN– Three Rio Grande City men are in federal custody for their suspected role in a kidnapping and execution under orders of the Gulf Cartel where the wrong person was killed. Roel Garza, Orlando Hernandez and Lorenzo Davila are accused of kidnapping a Mission man on May 28 for the theft of approximately 220 pounds of cocaine, a news release shows. The men bound and gagged the victim, who was taken to a ranch in the Mission-Alton area only to be taken later into Mexico where he was executed by the Gulf Cartel. They had kidnapped the wrong man, the release shows. The victim had no criminal record and was not involved in any drug activity.
