McKinney/Walker Announce Connecticuts Turn Around Team Uncasville, CT - Republican Leader John McKinney, of Fairfield, and former U.S. Comptroller General Dave Walker, of Bridgeport, have agreed that Connecticuts economy is in critical condition and the time for politics as usual is over. McKinney and Walker believe that it is time to tell the truth about where Connecticut stands, how it compares to other states, and what needs to be done to create a better future for all of the states residents. They agree that growing the economy, creating jobs, and putting the states finances in order should be our highest priorities. Both are committed to a more ethical, transparent, accountable and results-oriented government. Finally, Team McKinney - Walker agree that a positive, fact-based and solutions-oriented campaign is the best path to victory for the Republican Party in 2014. McKinney and Walker have agreed to conduct a fair straight forward campaign deserving of the people of Connecticut. Their focus is to help the GOP take back the Governors and Lt. Governors offices in 2014. If they combine their campaigns under the states voluntary election program, they would qualify for public financing. While they reserve the right to do so, they plan to continue their efforts to qualify for individual public financing grants in order to maximize the amount of funds available for the August 12th primary. McKinney and Walker represent a very strong, highly ethical and clearly electable turnaround team, with complementary skills. Working together and with others, they can help to create a Comeback in Connecticut. They represent a powerful team that is well positioned to defeat the current Malloy/Wyman match up in November. Senator McKinney noted: I believe that the time for politics as usual in Connecticut is over. We face serious challenges and the state needs the strongest turnaround team to help save our state. Dave Walker has the experience, credentials and communication skills to make an extraordinary Lt. Governor. He can do much more than serve as President of the State Senate. According to Dave Walker: Senator McKinney and I agree that Connecticut is in serious trouble and that it is not too late to create a Comeback in Connecticut. John and I also agree on the major issues that have to be addressed to turn the state around. We agree that our objective should be to defeat the Malloy/Wyman Administration. As a result, we will not attack other GOP Gubernatorial candidates during our campaign.
