Me and Michaels hobbies at their fullest at the American Civil War Reenactment at Knights Ferry. Michaels love for photography, and now collodian/ferotype photography, is set up in the foreground with the backdrop, while I did book signings at our camp in the background. Alex, Michael, Rob, Seth, Scott and some other fine musicians played some romping old time music Saturday evening as the young ladies and the gentlemen soldiers square danced near a blazing campfire at one of the Confederate camps. Yet one could hear laughter and merriment just as intense echoing through the night air coming from the Union Camp just over the ridge. The stars were brilliant and larger than usual in the crystal clear night sky at this Sierra Mountain foothill town. Aside from the tragic memories that arose from this war, this was the perfect weekend to experience the gaiety, charm, and romantic pleasantries of this bygone era.
