Me and my dad never made it easy for each other while I was - TopicsExpress

Me and my dad never made it easy for each other while I was growing up. He had my brother to be his sports kid, he had my sister to be his little girl, and then I show up and its the curve ball on how to raise a child... But he damn sure tried. I started doing musical theatre and he pretended to be an expert about it even though he knew next to nothing on the field and because of that (among other things) we fought constantly, but through the fighting he remained completely supportive. He drove me to all the auditions, the rehearsals, saw all the shows, and when it was time to decide on staying home and focusing on school or going off on my own and working performing for Disney, there was no fight, only support. All of the fighting we did and continue to do is fine; in a weird, slightly sick way, it makes me happy because it was love. The fighting was love. The fighting was home. And its something comforting that I look forward to each time I go back. Because I know only a man who truly loves me could possibly put up with the crap that weve thrown at each other, and I wouldnt change a thing. Dad, Happy 65th Birthday, thank you for making and continuing to make me the man I am today, thank you for all the arguments, all the fights, and above all else, all the love and support you readily gave me when it really mattered. I love you. #Happy65thBirthdayDad #Iammyfathersson #ILoveYouDad
