Me and my tomatoes... again. I was wandering in the garden as I do and spotted a truss of grape tomatoes I forgot I had covered with a pest exclusion bag. I remember I had run out of bags and only had one to put on one truss. The difference in the production is amazing. Its late in the season so some of the bugs are out ready to pounce but no way can they get through the netting. Apart from one damaged tomatoe at the top (maybe it got through a bit of a hole I left).. the truss that was covered (first picture) is perfect. The other trusses have some small blemishes. I guess a whole tomato tree would need like 40 bags for 40 trusses but i should get some more bags ready for next year. This is where I source the bags. ebay.au/itm/20-Fruit-Protection-Bags-Stop-Fruit-Fly-Exclusion-Bag-/390213515762?pt=AU_Business_Industrial_Farming_Agriculture_Farming_Agriculture_Equipment&hash=item5ada89b9f2 but maybe i should opt for this for the whole plant ? ebay.au/itm/220628181660 but worry about photosynthesis on the leaves. Thoughts?
