Meade students selected for Elementary Honor Choir (Meade School District) Twenty-seven Meade School District fourth, fifth and sixth grade students were selected by taped audition to participate in the 17th annual South Dakota Elementary Honor Choir to be held Saturday, Nov. 1 in Sioux Falls. The local students will join vocalists from across the state. Meade School District participants include Sturgis Elementary students Rhese Balster, Maggie Brink, Kenna Goebel, Zoey Goebel, Reese Jensen, Carlie Johnson, Addison Long, Max Lowe, Chandy Mercy, Neveah Murray, Joclyn Nohava, Haley Snow, Kathrine Sulzbach, Ella Ward and Erin Yantis. Piedmont Valley Elementary participants are Brookelyn Aker, Emmalyn Brant, Elise Christian, Grace Fogelman, Ray Henderson, Lia Neumiller, Holly Pates, Nathaniel Reeve, Rio Snyder and Taylor Tait. Representing Whitewood Elementary is Jarody Udager while Sturgis Williams Middle School’s representative is Emma Barnard. Following a full day of practice, the students will present a concert at 3:30 p.m. Nov. 1 in Exhibit Hall 2 at the Sioux Falls Convention Center under the direction of guest conductor Cynthia Nott, artistic director of the Children’s Chorus of Greater Dallas. The event is held in conjunction with All-State Chorus, All-State Orchestra and the South Dakota Music Education Association Conference. The students’ teachers are Hillary Hill, Sturgis Elementary; Rebecca Fischer, Piedmont Valley; Marlene Kotab, Whitewood Elementary; and Connie Feekes, Sturgis Williams Middle School.
