Meal Prep: Youll have to pardon how unpolished this clip is but I wanted to share with you some tips on meal prepping and storage. Most of my clips on this topic will relate to the 21 Day Fix program but the truth is that you can still plan and prep your meals if you dont have the program. Personally, its been a lifesaver for me in terms of learning and understanding portion control. Here is generally what I do for meal prep: 1. Chop veggies 2. Portion out fruits like berries. I dont precut fruits like apples or pears because they brown. 3. Cook brown rice, quinoa, legumes, sweet potatoes, any meats & fish and oatmeal. Here I have precooked my oatmeal ( I use steel cut and I add coconut oil and coconut sugar for flavor). I buy the Ziploc Perfect Portions freezer baggies to store what I measure out. And then place all of those baggies in either a large Ziploc bag or Pyrex glass storage. I follow this same routine with the rice, quinoa, beans and sweet potatoes. On the day of, I am typically only cooking my veggies. Everything else is just warmed up. It may not sound very exciting, but this is how I stay on track. I am pretty routine oriented so if I have a plan in place, I know Ill follow through. Some of you may think it is a lot of work but it is actually less stressful and time consuming and much, much healthier than the alternatives. Hope some of this helps. And Id love to hear what you do in your home to ensure healthy eating - especially if youre short on time or perhaps dont enjoy cooking (and thats perfectly normal and fine). #finishstrong #finishstronghealth #fitmommy #40andfit #homefitnessmomma #faithfilledmomma #21dayfix
