Pat McCrory’s signing of major energy legislation into law Wednesday sets the stage for preliminary exploration of North Carolina’s shale gas potential, with the STATE GOVERNMENT TAKING THE LEAD WHERE PRIVATE INDUSTRY HAS BEEN RELUCTANT TO COMMIT. Really? The people of NC are obliged to incentivize polluters? And yet they also want to WITHDRAW incentives for renewable energy? There must be a criminal case here somewhere. And didnt New Yorks governor just kill fracking in his state? Where the potential profits are exponentially greater? We got us some stupid, small-time crooks operating our capital. I think Id prefer crooks who are smart and game for bigger stakes.
