Measles in New Mexico: Christus St. Vincent Regional Medical - TopicsExpress

Measles in New Mexico: Christus St. Vincent Regional Medical Center in Santa Fe is working with the state Department of Health to contact patients, staff and visitors who may have been exposed to a measles patient. According to the hospital, the patient came to the emergency department on Nov. 25. After two days of treatment for a respiratory issue, the patient was diagnosed with measles. After the diagnosis, Christus St. Vincent says staff established infection control procedures. The patient was treated and released. The hospital does not anticipate the risk of contracting measles to be high since 80 to 89 percent of New Mexicans have been vaccinated. If you or a family member has not been immunized, or if you are unsure, contact the Department of Health or your primary care provider.
