Mechanics question: is their a legitimate way to clean the inside - TopicsExpress

Mechanics question: is their a legitimate way to clean the inside of a fuel tank, on a gas truck not diesel. I know theres an access port for fuel supply lines and an access port for the fuel pump itself. But Im thinking about pulling the tank out from under the truck, removing the fuel pump and Ohming it so while Im at it I was gonna clean the tank out. Theirs quite a bit of contamination inside and I was thinking run high pressure water inside the tank and let it flush out all the contamination. But honestly I would like to get ahold of it with some break cleaner because if any of the contamination has any kind of oil or lube based specimen then water is gonna do nothing but spread it and make it worse. And I dont think its possible to stick my hand with a can of break cleaner inside a hole that a fuel pump fits int. All opinions welcome. Thanks
