Mechanicx 2 - Pemba Purpose The Mechanic is responsible for the supporting, maintenance and service ability of all drilling and CPT operational onshore and near shore assets. Principle responsibilities and accountabilities a) Responsible for the maintenance of plant and equipment associated with our fleet of near-shore & onshore site investigation equipment including various drilling & winch systems, sea-going jack-up platforms, Track operated vehicles and all ancillary equipment. b) Follow correct routines as laid down by Workshop Manager to ensure cost control and high standard of equipment is maintained. c) Able to follow, understand & provide input in hydraulic system diagrams to assembling new drill rigs as designed by the company d) Able to help assemble project specific hydraulic/ motor driven equipment. e) Ensure that work is performed safely and within time limits where breakdowns on site occur. f) Assist the Workshop Manager, Site Supervisor, Foreman and other mechanic technicians in providing suitable solutions to problems/situations faced on site. g) Ensure that all information and events on site are logged accurately and handed over to the Foreman. h) Ensure that all mechanical operations are undertaken according to the company’s HSE policies and local health, safety and environmental regulations. He should be aware of all safety issues and potential risks of the job and maintain clean working stations. Primary stakeholders a) Country Manager; b) Divisional Manager c) Operations Manager; Dimensions a) Authority level: refer to Authorisation Schedule. Competencies & requirements Qualifications required: • Minimum of technical or trade school certificate Skills / experience required to do the job: • Experience in MS office applications such as Word, Excel and Access. • Fluent in English / Portugese Role specific Behavioural competencies required: • Problem-solving/judgment: ability to work unsupervised and observe, think critically and to solve problems using data-analysis, interpretation, and reasoning skills. • Teamwork: dedication and ability to work successfully with others in a team. • Information & Communication: ability to receive information from, and convey information to others, in a timely and clear manner, using appropriate language, and communication tools. • Client focus: ability to generate client satisfaction (internally and externally), potentially resulting in long term client relationships and additional business. • Planning & organizing: able to set priorities and determine actions, time and resources (tools, software, people, and budget as appropriate.) to achieve pre-defined goals. Monitor and manage timely delivery, leading to reliability and client satisfaction. • Location : The employee should be able to travel according to the projects requirements within Mozambique and eventually within East African Region.
