Medeb Fun Facts: Saron Bereket This week we he have brought you a special edition for one of Eri-Woods most fabulous young actresses Mrs. Saron Bereket. Saron, at only 27 years old has been propelling her acting career into new heights. She was born in the neighborhood of Arbaete Asmara, Asmara and her family later moved to Embagaliano where she would be raised. As a child she would always see movie posters, commercials, and other forms of media that grabbed her attention. She dreamt that 1 day she would be acting on the big screen and her photos would be as the same as her role models. Although she did not complete her studies at Barka Secondary School, Saron knew she had the passion and followed her dream of acting. She knew it would be a big risk, but was ready and determined to accomplish her goal of becoming an actress at any cost. In 2005, she got her calling from Director Megedi Teferi & The Legendary Poet Solomon Tsehaye who wanted to cast her as the lead role in a film entitled Eskomiesa. She passed her screenings/try-outs and was later given the main lead. This was Sarons first film and she was filled with excitement and joy. In our culture norms it is not typical for one especially a female to engage in the arts industry and not complete her studies, but ironically for Saron her biggest supporters were her parents. Especially, her father who told her if you want to pursue this career to give it your all and to never look back. In the next upcoming years she would have a breakout entrance starring in over 30+ films such as Grat Fereqa / Msli / Shla Ketema / Tigisti / Qeyah Rgbit / as well as soap dramas, plays, and music videos. Saron is very keen on respect and is a person who values times/appointments to the highest form. She takes her work seriously and says the public get so involved in her works that they forget she is not the character. On one occasion, she was visiting a wedding ceremony and kids were screaming Titi ewala at her which was from a role she played in the 2011 Hiwet Soap Drama that was on ERI-TV. She chuckled and then realized how much her works impacted the public. In her freetime when she is not working, Saron loves to spend time watching various films and having get-together with her girlfriends at Tea Cafes. Shes been happily married for 2.5 years and says her husband is one of her biggest supporters in her works.
