Media Advisory June 30, 2014 Ficano to announce county road-repair partnership with townships Wayne County’s ‘Township Roads Initiative’ to make available $14 million Redford Twp, MI -- Wayne County Executive Robert Ficano, along with leadership from the Department of Public Services (DPS) and its Engineering Division, will discuss details of the Township Roads Initiative, Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. The media event will take place at The Marquee, a pavilion located behind Redford Township Hall, 15145 Beech Daly, Redford , MI. 48239 The Township Roads Initiative is a unique partnership between the Wayne County Department of Public Services (DPS) and the county’s townships (Brownstown, Canton, Grosse Ile, Huron, Northville, Plymouth, Redford, Sumpter and Van Buren) that will make available $14 million over the next two years to address local township roads that are zoned residential and under Wayne County’s jurisdiction. “The state Legislature failed to act before its summer break to address the road funding issue,” Ficano said. “Wayne County once again will be proactive.
