WHO: Kentucky State Police, Georgetown Police Department, Scott County Sheriff’s Office, Kentucky Office of Highway Safety and McDonald’s. WHY: In conjunction with the national ‘Click It or Ticket’ campaign, law enforcement agencies are supporting the effort to bring awareness to Kentucky’s seat belt law. McDonald’s will participate by rewarding drivers who are wearing seat belts with a free food or drink coupon. Photo Opportunities: • Safety Checkpoint and media ride-along available. • McDonald’s providing free food coupons to drivers who are wearing seat belts. • Interviews with law enforcement and McDonald’s representatives. * Safety checkpoint improve highway safety through high visibility activity, focusing on vehicular equipment deficiencies, registration of vehicles and the licensing of drivers. Violations of law or other public safety issues that arise shall be addressed.
