Media Articles FRAUDSTERS APPEAR IN COURT 26 Nov 2014 Police in Rustenburg believe that they are close to cracking a card-cloning syndicate operating after the arrest of two suspected fraudsters in Rustenburg were arrested on Tuesday, 18 November 2014 at about 15:00. The arrest was effected after Police were alerted about a suspicious-looking African female who allegedly planned to purchase groceries at Pick n Pay utilising a cloned card. The suspect was searched and found in possession of twenty cloned cards. Further investigation by the Police led to the arrest of the second suspect at one of the local filling stations near Waterfall Mall. The Nigerian national, believed to be mastermind behind the gang was found with receipts for the items bought in various retail shops using the same modusi operandi. The suspects were driving a blue VW Polo with Gauteng registration plate numbers. The suspects, Gosego Mosiane (38) and Steve Ajala (40) appeared in Rustenburg Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 21 November 2014 charges of possession of suspected stolen property and fraud. They were remanded in custody until Tuesday, 25 November 2014. Police are appealing to local business owners who have felt prey to this gang to come forward and report cases.
