Media Relations Manager- Brazil Description The TripAdvisor Media Relations Manager will be responsible for helping drive brand awareness among media and other key influencers across Brazil and to positively position TripAdvisor in the media, public and trade as a key site for travellers and the tourism industry. Responsibilities for this role will include: Managing and coordinating the relationship with the local PR agency Guaranteeing that the company PR strategy is implemented in Brazil Develop annual PR plan working with the Senior Media Relations Manager Developing, writing and editing press releases Securing a fluent and positive relationship with local media Acting a media spokesperson for the company both in media and events Handling media queries, both on a reactive and proactive level Leverage relationships with local opinion leaders and travel organizations Assist in the company´s participation in events/speaking opportunities, coordinating the search for the most adequate speakers and providing key messages and company soundbites Ensure TripAdvisor´s participation in local Awards Required skills: Outstanding writing skills, with ability to alter tone and style according to different target media (e.g. trade vs. consumer lifestyle) Fluent in Portuguese (Brazil) and English- A good level of English is a must (eg. Advanced/Proficiency certificate level) Stellar oral communications skills Extraordinary attention-to-detail and ability to juggle multiple responsibilities and shifting priorities Ability to meet or exceed deadlines Proactive in the proposal of projects/ideas Requires minimal supervision and organizes own schedule according to deadlines and objectives Creativity Has a strong interest in new technologies: 2.0, social media (Twitter, Facebook, blogs), mobile apps, etc. Required experience: Bachelor’s degree from top university desirable, as well as a Masters degree in journalism/communications and PR Minimum two years experience at reputable PR firm/agency Minimum 5-7 years as PR professional, working preferably in the Travel or Consumer products sector (Travel industry experience a plus) Proven track record of pitching and placing consumer and trade oriented stories in top tier Spanish media outlets Deep understanding of the Brazilian media market Experience managing corporate or personal social media channels (e.g. Twitter, Facebook) Experience in media relations and proven contact with top media in Brazil In addition, the ideal candidate will demonstrate the following competencies: flexible and open to change and new information; adapts behavior and work methods accordingly Grasps the essence of new information; recognizes own strengths and weaknesses; pursues self-development; seeks feedback Exhibits integrity though fair and ethical behavior toward others and a demonstrated sense of corporate responsibility and commitment Treats colleagues and partners with respect: considers and responds appropriately to the needs, feelings, and capabilities of different people Can be relied upon to ensure that projects within areas of specific responsibility are completed in an appropriate and timely manner and acknowledges mistakes, learns from those events and is able to move forward productively Identifies and analyzes problems; distinguishes between relevant and irrelevant information Ability to balance time to market with a solution and make the right trade-offs along the way Strong analytical skills: understands and utilizes metrics relevant to role Clear communication through expression of facts and ideas in a clear, convincing and organized manner Demonstrates good business judgment when making decisions and always considers the relevance/impact of each decision on the business walljobs.br/wall/3408
